Khulna is the most convenient starting point for Sundarban trips since it’s close to the forest boundary, so most tours here run as 3 days / 2 nights packages aboard an air-conditioned cruise vessel cabins, dining, and common areas are all AC, which makes a big difference given the region’s heat and humidity.

Boarding at Khulna's Rupsha ferry ghat very early, around 6–7 AM, followed by welcome drinks and breakfast on board. The boat stops at Dhangmari or Chandpai forest station to take the entry permit, pay fees, and pick up two forest armed guards, then continues to Harbaria Forest Office before cruising on toward Kotka, where the ship anchors for the night.
An early-morning small-boat ride through narrow canals for bird watching inside the forest, followed by breakfast back on the ship. Then a walk through the mangrove forest, climbing the watchtower, and heading to Jamtola sea-beach for some relaxation. The ship then resumes its journey toward Kochikhali, with a guided visit to the forest office there.
A walking trail through Karamjal, views of the mangrove forest from a watchtower, and a visit to the Crocodile Breeding Center, then back to the ship to head to Khulna, with lunch served en route and arrival around 4 PM, followed by evening snacks and disembarkation.
Winter, from October to February, is the best season to visit cooler weather and better wildlife visibility, whereas monsoon runs June to September with heavy rainfall.
Warm jacket/pullover for cold nights, hat, sunglasses, binoculars, flashlight, sunburn lotion, comfortable walking shoes, camera and charger, and essential toiletries.
